Vacation Close to home north of Toronto in Winter

Tourists are starting to travel more within their own provinces . We have noticed that when our economy slows down due to a number of factors people from Ontario tend to travel close to home. Ontario Cottage Resorts tend to do pretty good because everyone wants to still travel but they don't want to fly so they check out places closer to home. A Cottage Getaway is a less expensive way to get away and still have a fantastic holiday.

Travel north of Toronto during the winter and you can take advantage of so many fun and exciting things to do

Visit the snowmobiling website and take advantage of Take a Friend snowmobiling week. Throughout the winter several places offer free rides to introduce people to the snowmobile sport to promote the sport.

Also on the trails throughout the winter each club has outdoor barbecues so everyone can gather to socialize.

There are so many things to do up north to include sleigh rides, wagon rides, cross country skiing, snowtubing, down hill skiing, ice skating, ice fishing and snowshoeing.

Contact Danette at Sand Lake Cottages & Inn or visit http://www.almaguin-vacation.com/ for more information on fun things to do.

Ontario Snowmobiling north of Toronto in the Almaguin Highlands

Today is Ontario Family Day and we went out to enjoy the day in the fresh Ontario Cottage Country air. We took our family of five snowmobiling in the Almaguin Highlands.
We purchased a Cottage Resort in this area about 8 years ago and we are so lucky to be able to experience life in the North. The trail conditions today were exceptional considering that we had rain last night. Our kids had loads of fun today enjoying the extra day off from school.
If you ever want to get out to check out Ontario Cottage Country look us up on this Almaguin Vacation directory. This Ontario Cottage Rental Directory will list accommodations and attractions in the Almaguin area just north of Muskoka near Algonquin Park.

The Almaguin and Near North area has loads of winter fun for the whole family to enjoy.
